Doi Inthanon National Park

Located in Chomthong, Chiangmai of northern Thailand, Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain in Thailand with an altitude of 2565 meters. The summit of Doi Inthanon is cold year-long, and is very moist in the wet (rainy) season. This is a very popular tourist attraction so going during public holidays or weekends are not recommended.

On the roadside near Doi Inthanon's summit, you can find many species of birds, the star being the endemic subspecies of Green-tailed Sunbird, aethopyga nipalensis angkanensis. Other birds found include Yellow-bellied Fairy-fantail, Bar-throated Minla, and Black-backed Sibia.

Angka Nature Trail

The Angka nature trail offers many species of birds, but it is highly recommended to come on weekdays, because tourists are always there on the weekends. The star Himalayan Shortwing is highly vocal in the wet season, but takes patience to photograph it! Other birds include Pygmy Cupwing, and Slaty-bellied Tesia.
